A young, attractive, woman working in a coffee shop is getting hit on all day. She is basically a mini celebrity. Unless you are extraordinarily handsome or obviously rich or famous, it’s unlikely that she is “interested.” She has endless options.

I had a friend who was sure that every guy who made eye contact with her was making a move on her. She would always complain about getting hit on all the time but it was very obvious when you were with her that 95% of the time, the guy didn't even know she existed. I kept telling her - every bartender makes eye contact when taking your drink order or collecting money. She would say, oh he leaned in towards me - I would tell her - watch him, he does that to everyone because he can't hear across the bar because it is noisy!

She was very convinced that men were just constantly watching her and wanting her. She would tell people about how hard it is to be a woman with all these men who just want to sleep with you, constantly checking you out and trying to get your attention, and smiling at you to let you know they want you.
