The scale hasn't shown much difference in the past 2 weeks but my clothes have become way too big all the sudden. Maybe more muscle? Or just cumulative? My BP is 110/70. I get my cholesterol tested again in 2 months. I am sleeping so much better, and no acid reflux. I did have a big cheating weekend with some yummy cheese and some fish. I was worried about it, but barely a blip on the scale. I love this lifestyle!
Damn, your diet must have been pretty terrible and full of crap before to be losing weight this quickly by cutting major food groups.
It was, PP, it was so terrible! I haven't cut any food groups or nutrients, just cut out the crap like you said. It is so awesome!! I am down from a size 10 to a size 6 and haven't felt hungry once.
you aren't eating meat or dairy, those are 2 pretty big food groups.
I guess to some people they are. I was talking about nutrient categories, like carbs/fat/protein. One book I read pointed out that humans are the only animal to drink milk from another species--cows' milk and chickens' eggs are no more food groups for humans than dogs' milk and snakes' eggs. Once I read that, I was ready to let that go. My doctor is delighted with the lifestyle, and I am happy as a clam.![]()

Yesterday I saw a man at the Dr who lost his leg, and his other leg was so swollen and looked hardened. He was clearly in a lot of pain. My mother is very heavy and has diabetes. My father had diabetes 1, and low sugar that several times almost led to death. I think that no matter what works for you, me, others, we need to take this health crisis very seriously. I think plan based diet has many benefits, and is still prohibitive for many in urban deserts and even in suburbs where you have grocery stores. Look at Wegmans prices for fresh produce, not even organic one. It used to be that processed crap cost more when we had seasonal produce, now that has skyrocketed as well. I shop at Aldi a lot, and that has lowered our grocery bills significantly, but it is a mixed bag there more than not. We eat veggies and fruit, a lot of it, but it adds up and fast. Anyway, sorry for my rant, just that I was pretty shook yesterday. Many would blame the patient for it, but at this scale we need to realize that we can't keep blaming one person. Society needs to get it together.

I'm now down a little over 20 pounds. Going down about 1-2 pounds per week. For those who mentioned no oil, just to be clear, it's not no FAT. I'm eating plenty of fat, just in whole food form. I'm also eating lots of carbs (mostly whole grains, oat, corn, etc.), and veggies. And for protein, lots of beans and tofu.
