That's what I took away from the title of the thread, "He asked me out for Friday but still hasn't set s time?"

Guy here: If I agreed to a date, and we had a time and place, I would never follow-up the day before. I keep my word and if I said I would be somewhere at a particular time and place, I'll be there. To re-confirm the day before seems to me to signify that what I said before didn't count, so I had to double-check. Sometimes women would text the day before to make sure we were still on, and other times they didn't show up because they assumed that I wasn't coming because I didn't confirm. But I figured that, if they wanted assurance, they could text me. And, moreso, if they didn't show after making a definite plan, I was happy, because I learned a lot about their character.

I also wouldn’t text and ask for a time. Of course I would do that with my husband or a girlfriend, but not with a man who just asked me on a first date.
Agreed!!!
I decided to text. He didn't respond. Going out with friends instead. I think in the future I will use your approach. If a guy wants my time he can ask for it properly.

PS I agree men do suck at this. My husband does.
This entirely. My partner has a clear idea of time, but often forgets to tell me. It’s ok to ask.
It’s different if it’s your husband or long term partner. Assuming that men have the best of intentions, but are just inept, is how women get themselves into trouble.
I'm not in trouble, nor have I ever been in trouble.
