Loudoun has 5 ID sessions scheduled for each age group! How many outside kids are coming to the 07's again? Oh yeah, that was answered earlier, ZERO. Just call the ID sessions what they are, team practice.

4-7-2 is what it is.
1-9-2 is also what it is.

Loudoun might want to try and have more ID sessions because the in house thing is not cutting it beyond CCL.

Looks like you had a excellent winter developing as well. You managed to build upon a 2-0 win against BRYC in Oct into a 3-0 loss over the weekend.

You similarly built upon the success of tight 1-0 loss to league leading VDA into a 4-1 loss in march as well.

Ahhh, those glorious days of 9v9 success are truly carrying over to the bigger girls game.

They are in last place in their division with a 1-9-2 record. Loudoun 06's are in 7th place in their division with a 4-7-1 record. The 06's knew about ECNL and was a part of their decision process.

And yet they were good enough to beat FCV 06 DA last October 1-0 at WAGS.

So, the 06's are 1-9-2 in league play but are somehow relevant because they lost to VDA and beat FCV in PK's 1-0? It sounds like FCV is living rent free inside Loudoun's head to me.

Oh shoot I guess you were there. Oops. Sounds like you have not gotten over it yet. By all means keep explaining to us how FCV 06 and 07 is better than Loudoun despite never beating them.

You are 1-9-2 in league play. Nothing more really needs to be said. Stop spending your time polishing your WAGS medal and try and climb to 10th place.

Nope. Wrong year. We are #1 in VA. Just not interested in moving down to FCV. Now that we have ECNL there is no need to deal with your drama.

You all seem to have had some trouble with McLean the last 2 times you've played them, while FCV beat them 3-0 this Fall. Parking the bus only works for so long.

4-7-1 in league play is nice too.

But just because a team is good at that age does not mean it will sustain. Look at the coaches and the club management and their philosophy and credibility. Then make a choice. LOL. Clueless post. Those 05 girls left before Loudoun entered ECNL. Times have changed.

So the point is that FCV "development" ruined these U-12 Champions. Great thanks for the heads up.

Not PP, but this actually might be a really good quality discussion if it could be honestly discussed without garbage comments. Never will happen, but probably a good short case study.

  • 1) 05 Loudoun Red U-12 (2016-2017) Eastern Region Lead

  • 2) 05 Loudon ECNL U-14 (2018-2019) Not Eastern Region High Lead

  • 3) Loudoun players left for FCV in that period

  • 4) Only 3 of the 50 goals they've scored this year have come from former Loudoun Red players who were Region Champions at U-12

  • Since I don't know any of these players, just looking for plausible connections

  • What does goals have to do with anything? They could be midfielders, defenders, goalies. Responsibilities could have changed

  • Are their assists high ("hockey" assists too)

  • Are they seeing similar positions or PT?

  • What was scoring percentages or roles at Loudoun in 2016

  • u12 is 9v9, u14 is 11v11 -> the game changes, did their individual characteristics suit the transition to 11v11?

  • In that period, how many FCV players were cut and what were their positions and goals/assists

  • If those Loudoun players were more defensive or assist making players, it stand to reason there was a connection in success. Can't discount defense or passers. If your scorers can't get the ball from those players who are no longer there, does that automatically make them bad offensive players

  • I'm not looking for any replies, just thoughts I had on the youth game when I see these back and forths that are so incomplete and poorly thought out. Considering how many WONKs live in this area, thought these folks would have better supported arguments.

7 of the 10 goals scored by Loudoun 05 in regionals were by players who are now on FCV. Is goals a great metric? No, but I don't have advanced metrics at my fingertips. 3 out of 50 does tell a story, though. The point isn't that those players aren't good, weren't good, have regressed, etc. The point is that the other dozen players on FCV , those that weren't on that Loudoun, team are strong players and it is incorrect to think FCV is solely dependent on Loudoun players jumping over to FCV at U13.
