Subject: Another variation of "another kid?" but this is more about the spouse.
My suggestion is not ideal since you mentioned age 37, but if you want your spouse to be fully on board (which is the way I think should be), think about giving your spouse time till the kid turns 3. Or at least 2.5. Kids reach such a milestone in terms of independence. I was the one with less mental, emotional, physical, low energy level “capacity” to handle the never ending demands of my child’s infancy and toddlerhood. It didn’t help my kid woke up at least three times a week for one reason or another well over age of two and that I was the preferred parent 95% of the time, even though DH wanted to contribute more of the tasks.. But after my child became capable of doing more things by himself, only then did I start to be able to wrap my head about, and then actively desire another child.
Fertility wise, not ideal to wait, but you already successfully became pregnant once. You might be surprised at the number of people/women in this area who are 39, 40, 41, 42 when they give birth to their second child, especially the ones who were extra focused on their careers or got married later or whatever reason. I went through IVF and was exposed to the world of older moms, but even if I hadn’t, just at preschool, kid’s rec center classes, playgroups, moms at playgrounds, you see enough moms who are “older”.

PP, I was 36 with #1, now 40 with #2.
