Lots of IVF pregnancies are multiples and parents must choose to eliminate any more than two fetuses to increase chances of live births. The preference is for boys.

I have an 8 yo son, and 2 girls ages 6 & 3. Our next door neighbors have 2 girls. Our other next door neighbors (in their 80s now) have 2 girls. I’m not sure what you’re talking about OP.

We have two girls, 4 year-old and 5-month-old. I had them at 32 and 36.

I had my kids “young” at 29 and 31 and they’re both girls. We also know a ton of 2-girl families.

Thanks for the lecture, grandma.

Can think of more families with all girls or all boys than families with one of each.

Same. I also know a ton of families with 3 girls or 3 boys only. I recently went to a wedding and the bride was one of 7 (!) Sisters, no boys in the family. I have 2 boys and I had them both in my 40s with no fertility treatment, so the older parent or IVF theory doesn't apply. I read that the mom's father influences his daughter's probability of having more girls or boys. My dad had me and 2 boys and I have 2 boys. My SIL is the only girl with 3 brothers and she has a boy. Several of my coworkers have only girls (2 to 4 girls only families) and they all have granddaughters.

My son is in Kindergarten (Feb. 2013 birthday) and the ratio of boys to girls in preschool and at his elementary school has been at least 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 for the past 3 years.

My DC's K class in 2009 was 3:1 boy:girl.
