If he was alert and talking when he was taken to the hospital he has a good chance of being okay. ICU for a few weeks, a month or two of rehab and he could be fine.
Was the hospital a stroke center? How can TMZ call it a ‘massive stroke’? How would they know that?

David won't be able to sing. He will be too stressed due to the drug use to focus on singing. If Dylan dies at least he will finally be reunited with Toni.
