To me she looks like a great player in YouTube video of her playing/practicing. I don’t watch a lot of youth soccer. Is she that much better compared to other kids her age in our area?

Probably because keeping natural grass alive in S. California is not easy with such intense use. Plus, she probably is playing on turf for games more often than not.

Homeschooling kids for sports or arts development is nothing new. Almost every elite gymnast you see is homeschooled or online-schooled. Same goes for music or drama/acting prodigies. If you have a really talented, driven kid and the means to do it, I don't see why you wouldn't. Doesn't mean she will become Mia Hamm, but the window for this stuff isn't huge. Strike while the iron is hot.
