If you are admitted and uncertain, ask the school to put you in touch with some parents from your child’s grade. Most parents are very willing to have a conversation or email exchange to answer any questions you might have.

I have a daughter in that grade. A great group of kids and parents IMHO. Supportive. I’ve heard there are a few kids looking into leaving because they don’t want the academic stress. And a couple for family reasons.

My DC got accepted to the MCPS magnet program and we selected Sidwell. Certainly a student will get great education from either place but the experience can be different. We want our DC to learn more humanities before focusing on STEM in college. That’s the major reason why we selected Sidwell (private school).
