The undergrad - home because he doesn’t have a job and seems to be unable to find one (due to lack of looking)

The grad student - Caribbean. She works her ass off at school and at work. Well give her some spending money.

My son had a spring break trip each of his four years. New Orleans, Panama Beach, Bahamas and Belize. He was on full academic scholarship so I thought he earned it.

Not the PP, but most colleges with research positions take trips with those professors on breaks. My son did multiple ones, even as an undergrad. You usually pay for the airfare, but everything else is paid for by the school. New Mexico was his favorite.

Not the PP being quoted, but DC’s school has a couple of kinds of programs that might be called research trips. One type involves an industry-city/regional pairing in which a group of undergrads make the rounds of a series of potential employers. Another type involves off-campus research that functions as a prequel or sequel to a course.

Parent paid trip to pretend its not a spring break trip when it is. Spring break is short.. no one is getting a job in less they have one they can return to.
