Yes, this is the case for lots of schools. And there are a bunch where DCPS is predicting a drop in enrollment that seems to be based on no evidence. It is all just totally made up.

Miner has been planning to add an PK classroom (plus another separate SN classroom at the ECE level) since at least the beginning of this year, so not a new budgeting thing.

That is not true. I work at Raymond, the first esy school. We did not vote to implement it. We were told it was happening. In fact, we found out via a Washington Post article that Raymond was extending the year. It was stated in the article that teachers wanted more time with kids at Raymond. However it was not true. The principal decided along with Kaya Henderson. We were given an arbitrary deadline to transfer that was before any schools were posting vacancies. If we didn’t sign the new contract we were on our own. Every subsequent year EAY schools were given an earlier deadline to transfer. It was always before any other schools were hiring. DVPS made it almost impossible to leave
