Total: Under the 60k wedding budget.

Weird you count the vacation as a wedding budget.

It is the wedding.

DH paid for, but I picked out. I got a beautiful platinum setting and a 1ct CZ. You seriously can’t tell. We saved $5,000 by doing this. DH was worried I’d be pissed that it wasn’t a diamond. It was my idea to use a CZ. But I got the idea from the sales person at Charleston Alexander. Have them buy, set the CZ. They have access to go quality CZ.

The dirty little secret of jewelry stores is many of the display jewelry are CZ. When they take it to the back ton”clean” it, they are swapping rings.

Not going to comment on the finances, but I’d recommend looking at lab grown diamonds and other types of stones. I got a lab grown sapphire from brilliant earth and it’s way less than what a diamond or natural stone would have been. It also avoids issues with mining stones.
