Ugh, not more junk they don't need or want.
A kiss and strawberries with their cereal.

My 13 year old is making valentine jars for her friends tonight. A little jelly jar filled with chocolates, chapstick, and maybe a scrunchie. Those are so on trend again.

I hate the phrase “on trend”.

How is it on trend? That is what we all had when we were 13. Those are just staples.

No they haven’t been stables for 25 years. They are trending again (is that better?).

Since when did Valentines' day become a smaller version of Christmas for kids?

+1.

Why would I get my 12-year-old daughter something other than a pack of Valentine's cards to fill out for her friends if that's what she wants to do? Anything else is just weird.

Disappointment. On account of my being such an underachieving mom who didn’t even realize that this was a thing people do.
It’s the gift that keeps on giving, really. And it works for all these random holidays that I’m oblivious to.

Nothing. I’m sure she will exchange some valentines with or without candy with friends. I think they were making cards for their closest ones but they like to craft. We don’t give the kids Valentines presents from us.
