taking a petite clothing size is not the same thing as being a petite person.
most people, when talking about petite people, mean women who are under 5'2'' and are also small in shape. it doesn't generally refer to a woman who is taller than that, or who otherwise seems large in any way. i would imagine the op is either a tiny woman or else a tiny woman fetishist looking for others of his or her kind to name names and post pics.
(i am a tiny woman who is not going to engage in this conversation other than to say omg you people are such a mix of pedants and perverts!)

Same here. I am in my 40s, the mother of several college-age children, and between 5'9" and 5'10". But I weigh only 127 lbs. I am often told that I am "small" or look so "young" -- by women and men both -- because my weight to height ration give me the same frame I essentially carried as a teenager.
Neither of you are Petite. If you are taller than your potential suitor, trust me...he doesn’t care how thin you are, you are not petite.
For men, thin matters, don’t kid yourself. Fat is disgusting.
Anonymous wrote:I wouldn’t date a woman under 5’4 or so because the potential for being chubby when she’s older is too great. There’s just not as much body space on a short woman for it to go. I do like very thin and small boned though, and prefer not overly tall.

Anonymous wrote:Petite 5’1” ...since college never dated a guy under 6’0. For whatever reason, taller guys seem to ask me out.
Anonymous wrote:Guy here. First wife was tall and thick or big-boned like poster above said. I always felt small. I could not pick her up. I may sound superficial but it did have an impact. Her personality was big as well meaning she was bossy, not meaning she was outgoing.
My second wife is petite and I love it. I can carry her and when I like the fact that I'm bigger than she is. She comes off as more feminine. Call me a neanderthal, I'm just being honest.
Big boned women look heavier when they gain weight too.
