OP stated very clearly why their family prefers to stay at the resort rather than the time share - tell your parents what you've said here about how much you love that you can relax from the moment you step out of the airport with the all-inclusive resort you prefer. You're allowed to like something different than your parents!
And this of course is the business model for the companies selling timeshares. They offer a reduced visit price for two reasons:
1. To make people go more often than they would otherwise.
2. To lock people in to a regular vacation even during recessions, when many people cut back on vacations as a luxury.
(We are not even in a recession... yet.)

If so, I'd suggest swapping it out for a different location and doing it as a separate location. "Mom, we just can't go to St. Kitt's without staying at the St K Best Ever Resort, because we love it so much. Your offer for the Marriott VC is so nice, though --could we switch it to Mallorca for next year and use it there? We'd love to go to Spain!"
I've stayed at the Marriot and Sheraton resort time shares and they are genuinely very nice. Of course, you don't have to do this, but if it were me, I would take the gift!
this would be the best way to handle it.
