Alternatives to Michigan are any top tier Public School

example UVA not the rest of the Big Ten

Wisconsin is an internationally ranked top 25 school. There are specific programs at other Big 10 schools that are world class. YMMV but that is such an ill-informed statement.

That's why I said major and big difference between top 10 and top 25. Please try and keep up painfully obvious you are a Wisconsin grad right? lolz

Among my kids’ friends who liked Michigan, there seemed to be a lot of crossover between tulane, GW, Syracuse, U of Miami, Wisconsin, Indiana, and CU Boulder.

MSU for certain majors and/or the Honors college. That new facility for rare isotope beams is cool!

That is a worse suggestion than OSU.

The CDC allows students in the big ten to take classes at all big ten schools.

Do you mean CIC? Because that includes Hopkins now.

Except Illinois and UMD, I don't think these are comparable. I would say some of the CA schools, UNC, and other very highly rated publics.
