It is ridiculous to blame someone's addiction problems on another person. Were LL and DL underage when Wilmer was around? If yes, it's the parents' fault. If no, they were adults, it is their own fault for choosing to be around negative influences and doing drugs. People make their own choices. I have no love for Wilmer, I think he's trash, but you cannot blame him for other people being on drugs.

That is basically it. She thouht she was too important but in an industry where every hour is money being punctual is important. She would frequently blow off entire days or leave early or show up incapacitated and unable to work. And then after a few years when everyone tried to give her a comeback narrative she did the exact same thing.

And then she went off to live in Europe and the Middle East as an escort essentially when she ran out of money to stay at the Chateau Marmont. And spent the last 5-10 years having sex with rich men so they would fund her drug and luxury lifestyle.

Why did this happen to her? Probably because Dina and Michael Lohan are the absolute worst and borderline abused her for years. Because both of them used her for her money and tried to make her fund expensive lives that THEY wanted. But then a funny thing happened, Lindsay turned into a version of Michael and Dina. She is just as crappy, emotionally abusive, lazy and moochy as her parents now. Perhaps even more so although she has had the good wisdom to never have a child.

Instead of creating this fake life where Lindsay was just a victim of hollywood (which of course she was but not anymore so than Britney Spears who, once she got on drugs for her mental health and started working hard again did just fine) think about how the story of Lindsay Lohan is one that is repeated all across this country every day in the mountains of appalachia and the streets of Chicago. Promising, happy, beautiful children are born to eff up parents and because no one intervenes, no one removes them from clearly abusive situations (and Lindsay's situation was that she was CLEARLY being financially used and emotionally abused), because of that they grow up to be their parents, who go on to have more beautiful promising happy children who are slowly corroded by their parents.

No one has sympathy for the Jamal's of the world this happens to, but we have unending sympathy for the girl who once starred in a really great movie. Lindsay Lohan is such an excellent case study in this, we should use it to increase our empathy for children all over the country going through something like this and try to help them before its too late. Because for most of them they don't have a plan b where they get to go live on yachts in the Mediterranean and occasionally be given a shot at a movie or television show for the rest of their lives.

I watched the show she did for Oprah a few years ago - reality docuseries about trying to make her comeback. Oprah met with her and her mom, rented a super nice apartment for her, got the doc, got her a sober coach and counseling, all these opps, and she just blew it. You could tell she was on drugs. Sleeping until 4 in the afternoon. Coming home at 7 am (people don't do that if they aren't on substances). Sleeping through a 3 pm meeting with a movie exec was particularly cringe-worthy.

Soooo many people were rooting for her and trying to help her. It is really sad.
