Make that a four-way primary if Alicia Plerhoples can get enough signatures. She now also plans to run for Chair.
She’s decided she can skip the School Board stint (McElveen, Smith, Storck) and run directly for BOS.
It is absolutely not necessary to serve on the school board before serving on BoS. Given that only 2/10 of the current Members of the board were school board members, clearly its an exception vs the rule.
I was ready to support her for School Board. For Bulova's seat? NFW.
Fair enough. I support McKay bc he has actually served on the board. I believe one should serve on a legislative body before they choose to lead it.

Anonymous wrote:There's a whole slew of "progressive" primary candidates embarrassing themselves all over the place in Fairfax. Mostly by grandstanding on issues that aren't in any way, shape, or form under the jurisdiction of the position for which they are running. Fairfax won't even vote for a meal tax, much less a candidate who wants to stop personal property tax enforcement for immigrants or not prosecute immigrants since they might get deported.
