How skinny did you used to be and how obese are you now?

I’m really really really depressed over it and need others to help lift me out of this funk.

I was 120 in 2014 after having 2 babies in 12 months. Nursing and taking care of 2 under 1 was great for me. Pre-pregnancy I was 135 ish. Now, 206. Alcoholism. :

That happens when you have kids so close in age.

You could see my bones sticking out. 130 is a healthy fit look for me when I’m lifting and not just running. Then I went through law school, four years of infertility, parenting a toddler, commuting, and am pregnant again after infertility treatments. Sitting at 215. I’m 31 weeks and have only gained 9lbs. The midwives want me to gain 11-16lbs so I’m pleased. I bought a Peloton and was doing great beforehand. I plan to pick it back up after the baby and I’m healed. It may mean waking up at 4am to get a workout in but such is life.

Unusual that the midwives think you should still be gaining weight while you are you pregnant when you are already so overweight.

Not unusual at all. At least according to the American Pregnancy Association.

I was a size 2 - 115 lbs, athletic. Fertility treatments, steroids, pregnancy, and a ton of stress/depression/insufficient sleep etc - I’m now 165 lbs size 10. I’m petite, so I’m technically obese. I can walk but other excercising kills me. I gain and lose 15 lbs every year.

I recently realized I was stress eating sugar and secret eating. My resolution is to stop the sweets, gradually get into diet mode...

I cut out sugar, simple carbs and alcohol. The weight comes off very easily. I eat this way 95% of the time, and don't worry about the 5% (parties, special events, holidays).

This has created a downward trend for 2018. I am not going back to eating whatever I want, this has to be a a forever change for me.

Because all those posts were off-topic and irrelevant.

5’8” and 119 when I got pregnant at 30 with twins. Never lost all the weight from that pregnancy. Gained more weight taking hormones in order to get pregnant again. Now pregnant again and have already gained way more than is recommended.

I am 5’2” and weighed 126 in 2011. I know the exact weight because I went to Jenny Craig to lose weight. I did lose, but I’ve gained about 10 pounds per year since then due to a combination of infertility drugs, pregnancies, a sedentary lifestyle, and aging. I weigh 190 now and it is creeping upward (wrong direction!)

What was the cause of your weight gain and over how long of a time period?

I was 145 at age 36 at 5'6" and I am now 175 at 61. Thyroidectomy, Meds for afib ( they slow down heart rate- developed afib at 54) and menopause. Ideal weight for me now would be about 155. It is hard though with those things in play.
