Right or wrong I seriously doubt the man gives a shit because he's obviously moved on with his life and isn't thinking about that previous relationship SOOOOOO...the only person stressing about this right or wrong crap has got to be the woman which means she needs to take a hint from her former partner and move on with her life and stop wasting time and energy racking her brain wondering who's to blame for a failed relationship. Tell her to turn her attentions forward where potential happiness lies and get her mind out of the past where there's nothing but heartache and headache.

When men say this it means they don’t want to be married to YOU specifically. Break up if you want to be married. I have seen this with my friends, together for years. They break up and one or both are married to someone else within two years.

I think this is because women assume that the guy is honest and means he is not ready to marry anyone. When in fact, he is saying I am not ready to marry YOU. If you don't run at the first utterance of any similar phrase, you are a fool.

Except when it’s not. If he clearly said he did not want to get married before year 3 - whether he meant in general or to her specifically, she made a decision to stay with him anyway. As much as you could claim, he was perfectly fine with the benefits or marriage without the commitment she decided to gamble that it was worth waiting him out rather than break up when he said that and try with someone new.

She is angry with him because it is easier than being angry at herself and I would bet real money that she had at least one friend or family that told her it wasn’t a good idea to stay with him when she wanted marriage and he didn’t.
