Seriously? This means you wrap it up quickly, not leave someone sitting at table while you "go to the bathroom"!
If I showed up and she was way fatter or older than her photos, then she lied to me and I'd have no compunction about heading out the back door.
This one sounds more like he read her as whoa crazy crazy. If that's the case, you almost have to sneak away to avoid a scene. No one likes getting a drink thrown on them or being stabbed.

Second, I can accept that a woman going on a date puts a certain amount of effort into her hair, makeup, and clothes to look nice. Plus, and I know it is often a remote possibility, a woman on a date puts herself in a situation where there is potential for physical abuse from a man.
Translation: give her some freaking common courtesy at the least.

I guess if I saw someone get all their stuff together to make a trip to the bathroom, I would wonder what's up.
He should have sent a text immediately after leaving or just told you this isn't working out. Maybe something about you was creepy or made him feel unsafe or uncomfortable and he felt his best option was to just disappear.
He never took his jacket off.
Did he eat his meal?
