We noticed, it's just that street taco options are slim throughout the entire region
Except the best tacos in the region are right next door to OP, yet people are recommending mediocre options way the hell out in Virginia.
OP, this is the only list you need:
El Tapatio
La Placita
Taqueria y Rosteria El Rey
La Fondita
All of these are in Riverdale.

I hated this place. The meat was dry.
I need to move back to San Diego.

+1 this and the Tortas Y Tacos mentioned above on Columbia Pike in Arlington are the two best I have found.

What part is prohibited?
Health dept rules specify that spit-roasted meat has to be finished on a griddle or hot plate after it is sliced off the spit - this dries out the meat and messes with the flavors.

Way over seasoned, and not in a good way.
Plus their music is deafeningly loud.
Their classic tacos are great. I always get the tongue and tripa and add salsa to taste.
The "fancy" ones are somewhat heavy on the seasoning, but personally I like the invention that went into the recipes. And compared to BarTaco Bamba is a lot better value.
