Many people here like to say that futsal doesn't help or add to regular soccer....But I just don't see how that's true...The amount of passing that happens in futsal is incredible. And the teams that do well in futsal are the best passers...How does that not contribute to outdoor?

Also, Futsal is not soccer. Kids who have played lots of futsal will have an advantage over those who have not.

Not only for DA but all teams have same issue. Most teams divided into 2. Sometimes players playing double games. Not able to make any team conclusions from what you see out there. Same thing for players. Not to mention the slippery floors.

Thanks! New site is a little awkward for getting to the schedules/scores for a specific age group.

To satisfy my own general curiosity, ...

Yes, your own club ...

If it weren't for external sites, I might not know anything about other FPYC teams. I only recently saw that we have no boys teams *between* the 2006s and 2010s … and that's because of the NCSL website.

Yes, too true. I am in FPYC and we have an excellent coach, so all is fine with our 06 boys team. But, generally, the club really suffers from poor communications.

FPYCparent wrote:So, First Touch Futsal started its futsal league last weekend. Too bad their website domain expired on the 31st. I got to watch some parts of four 2008/U11 games out a Browne Academy.

Are there any teams playing in the NCSL league starting soon-ish at the St. James? What other leagues are in action?

To satisfy my own general curiosity, are there clubs that generally stick with winter practices instead of participating in futsal leagues?

Yes, your own club...lol. Once the kids gets older, futsal becomes less attractive as coaches are trying to players used to full field. So our FPYC team (u13) is doing just winter outdoor practices on full fields. It's up to the individual coach at FPYC.

Did anyone go to the ID Camp at the St. James for NCSL this past weekend? Didn't seem like many coaches were going.

why on earth is this $200 for a tryout?

It is more like a camp than a tryout, with a couple full days of training and playing over a weekend. At the end they invite a few players to a national level camp and from there select teams to play internationally.

I know if your DC gets selected, you will pay for another ID session in Kansas City. And if your DC gets picked for that, then you have an internationa trip next, so if you are planning on following that pathway, get your DC's passport ready and have your checkbook handy, because nothing is more pay-to-play than US Youth Futsal. It's a big money sucker.

I also know the turnout for US Youth Futsal is mediocre. I recommend US Futsal's youth division over it because there is a much broader base of participation.

add $14 if you haven't registered in their system this year yet.
