It's not hard to figure out. Hogan has been a decent governor and is fairly moderate. Jealous is not moderate at all; he's in the Sanders mold, which is not (at least yet) the mainstream for most Democrats. Most of the Democrats I know voted straight Dem with the exception of Hogan and, in some cases, Floreen.
So you admit that md Dems are mostly neoliberal selfish cucks

How would voting by mail improve things? That doesn't force people to become informed.
Time. Voting by mail gives you the time to look things up and research. At the ballot box, you just want to fill in the circles and get out.
That's silly. You get a ballot ahead of time in the mail either way. You can research it at your leisure and bring it with you. If the initiatives were news to you when you got into the voting station, that's your own fault.
Agree. I filled out my ballot at home while researching the candidates and the initiatives. I brought the "cheat sheet" into the polls with me and just copied my responses.

My god, people voted for a county spoils system. Unbelievable. All the ballet initiatives passed.

Ballot initiatives always get a Yes vote unless there was big press about them. They were so poorly worded that it just confused voters and they just voted yes anyway.
Yea I had trouble understanding these, and wasn’t sure where to go for clarity.
We had a discussion here about them. QA was fine. QB limits the county's ability to raise taxes, even in an emergency, which isn't good. QC is horrible because it allows council members to have more than one appointed (non-merit based) employees. It got the least votes for it out of the three but it was still voted for.
Surprised people voted for B and C. I have to admit I didn’t read any of them until I got to the polling place but still could see that B and C were dumb and voted No. This is an argument for voting by mail, so you have time to consider your answers.
The ballot initiatives are no secret. If you do your research you can look them up beforehand and figure out your answers. The only reason they'd be new to you is if you're lazy.
Which based on the outcome the majority of voters are. So instead of calling people lazy maybe we think about how to make the process more effective. Meet people where they are.

I’m a Democrat and I voted for Hogan because of Ben Jealous’s education plan. We already struggle to have enough money to deal with overcrowded schools and the needs of all our students. We don’t need more of our tax revenue going to subsidize other counties.
That was what did it for me too. Only R I voted for yesterday.
