Ie you want a Rav4 and can wait, there is a new model coming out in weeks. The new style is meant to be more sporty (like a Jeep Cherokee). If you can't wait, I bet you could really drive a bargain on the older body. The hybrid won't be available for a year, so this year's hybrid is only avaiable in the old body style.

The 2017 CRV does not have this. The 2018 and the 2019 are essentially the same as the 2017 -- so no.... they do not have automatic shut down when idling.

Can those of you with late model (2017 or 2018) versions of these cars please post if they are equipped with "start/stop" or "idle stop" technology that shuts down and restarts the engine when the vehicle is at rest? After a few experiences with rental cars that were so equipped, I'd avoid this "feature" like the plague.

What year and what don't you like about it?
2014- feels crammed compared to rav 4. Just don’t like the feel of it- doesn’t feel sturdy

Subaru Forester should be added to the mix. Similar size and features to the models listed in your title. We love ours, would buy another in a heartbeat.
The CVT (transmission) in the Subaru is garbage. Failure rate by 100,000 miles is estimated to be 15-20%. That's pathetic.
CVT transmissions in 2012 and some later Subarus had problems, but from what I understand that was addressed with a redesign in 2017.
