Depresses me to hear this, OP. They system is terrible, especially if you have a GTLD kid and better if your kid is on the autism spectrum. My DC has now finally graduated high school and started at Murch. We had to fight every step of the way. Contact the OSSE Ombudsman, but line up an advocate in the meantime. You will need to fight for every service. I have no idea why DCPS just continues to get away with this. They are not in compliance.

Advocates for Justice in Education (AJE) does in-person workshops and webinars on these topics all the time. They will also conduct workshops for other groups.

They are the official free outreach and advocacy organization for special needs students DC (every state must have one under IDEA). I believe OSSE also provides a grant for them to do this outreach.

They are quite good - worth your time to attend.

Only speakers will be Lafayette staff. If you have concerns about your kids and services they are or are not getting talk to professionals outside the school.

Generally a consult with a Special Ed lawyer or Advocate is money well spent.
