My wife gets on to me all the time about trimming my nose hairs so I told her I’d like to get it all done with the wax in one pull (and I thought I’d sort’ve enjoy the weird flash of pain). We go to her wax lady, she gets me all set up, and the wax lady goes “WOW”. Ended up pulling about six wooly worm-sized strips out of both nostrils...we’re talking hairs up to two inches long. Over 40 years it must’ve just became a tangled mess up in there.

I’d always snored a little bit, but am 100% cured now. My left nostril always had trouble taking in air and I assumed a deviated septum, but now they’re both like wind tunnels and I feel like a brand new man, no joke. Highly recommend a nostril wax as a cheap $15 attempt to stop snoring before diving into heavier stuff like sleep studies and CPAP.

I need to google this. HOLY SHIT that would hurt!

OMG it really is a thing. I just googled it.

Like others, I'm concerned that this is reflective not just of the health/snoring/practical problem, but of his overall behavior. Is this in outlier in how he treats you when he disagrees with something or doesn't share your opinion? He's not only in denial about his own health but he's showing great disregard for you.

If he wants to be in denial about own health, that's his choice--but then HE sleeps on the couch.

Practical advice--try a white noise machine. It works better than ear plugs, IMO.

I'm not sure it's still working as well as it should though years later. I'm sure your DH's anger about it is a symptom he needs it. Can you convince him it will help him feel better? He will have to do a sleep study spending the night somewhere and get used to wearing the CPAP but after that it becomes second nature. If he won't do it, sleep in another room with a real bed.

OP here. This is the part of the problem. He feels fine.

Also, we live in a small place and don’t have a guest room. I sleep on the couch when necessary.

My brother felt fine too, but his wife made him do the sleep study anyway, and they literally stopped the study because they were alarmed at how bad his apnea was. He just didn't have a frame of reference for how "fine" he wasn't.

I find my husband’s snoring very comforting. I know I am odd. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP.

I would shake him awake every time he snores. Do that for a week and see if he's ready to re-visit the issue. I agree that his complete disregard for you is a real problem.
