Propofol and Versed are what we use. Not drugs you want to be getting on a regular basis.

They gave me some after my C-Section and I hated how it made me feel - zombie-like and queasy. I refused any more.

Had it in the hospital. Hated it. Asked to not be given it again...but I love other opioids so there is that.

I've had morphine via IV after surgery twice. It helped with the pain but didn't do anything else besides make me sleepy. I used plenty of recreational drugs back in the day, including opioid pills when they used to be readily available, and never got the blissful, euphoric feeling some people enjoy. That said, I've never recreationally injected any type of drug--I saw that story end badly one too many times in the '90s.

I just had it at the hospital and it made me sooo sick to my stomach. It was a very low dose and I told the nurse to stop administering it. It did nothing for my pain either.

They sent me home with percocet. That was nice - it took the edge off life.

For Christ's sake, no, OP. Best case scenario, you get itchy, nauseated, and constipated and never do it again.

Worst? You're one of my patients who comes to the hospital with "the flu" and asks for Vicodin.

Morphine makes me hideously sick. Even if it didn’t I wouldn’t dream of playing around with it if not needed. Why tempt fate? That impulse seems very adolescent.

I heard that opioids either make you feel wonderful or they make you feel sick. I am in the "sick" category so I really don't get how anyone can take them recreationally.

How any rational adult would want to try and potentially experiment with this is beyond me.

Eh, I don't think it would be that harmful for most people but I wouldn't do it. No real upside. If it's really great you'll spend your time wanting to do it again, which would not feel good. If it's not that great, then what was the point.
