My son’s favorite are Adidas Predator Pros with finger saves but they’re very expensive and hard to find. I know a lot of GKs love West Coast and they have a bunch of styles to choose from so I’d love for him to switch. The gloves are really affordable in comparison too.


Thank you! My son is wanting these also but hoping he likes the West Coast too. Going to try those first so fingers crossed.

Mostly personal preference but you can find a guide to the different cuts at https://www.westcoastgoalkeeping.com/pages/glove-cuts

DD (will be U17) has been wearing WCG gloves for about 6 years now. She had a broken finger when she was 13 and prefers a glove with fingersaves (most of their gloves do and they're removable if you prefer without). She has tried all of the cuts over the years and prefers the negative cut and also liked the bio hybrid cut. It really is probably a a personal preference, though. They have a 30 day return policy which isn't as convenient as being able to try them on first obviously but at least it's an option. My DD goes through ~2-3 pairs a year which will obviously vary by amount of play, surface type, how well you take care of the gloves, etc. Hope that helps!

I will put in another plug for laurie at pellkeepers. She does small groups and will only mix kids at similar ages/levels. She is excellent.

My kid had been getting training for years through FPYC. Coack Amir Kazim later separated his efforts under the Premier Keepers label (https://www.premierkeepers.com/). Amir himself is now on a foreign service detail ... and my kid has moved to another sport, but I'm confident that Amir did his due diligence in building his staff. I'd ask the local club if they have a relationship with Premier Keepers.

Post on your community listserv. Guy might find a HS player who is willing to work with your child. I know my HS son does this and I’m sure he’s not the only one.

Most of these guys will work with any age and skill level (although some, like Zach and Dave) tend to work with older, more advanced players.
