In regards to Loudoun you must take into consideration the number of players that left for FCV, and ECNL/Loudoun in the past. I don’t think Loudoun can be judged on their U15/U14 and older age groups but how their 06 and younger will fair. Loudoun lost their best 04’s and older years ago.

McLean’s 06’s demonstrates a possible fall off.

But, both BRYC and McLean were able to keep their older rosters in tact and maintain success but with Arlington having DA and of course Spirit in their general back yard will both clubs be able to retain talent going forward?

VDA pulls from 2 strong clubs and their younger age groups are bearing the fruits of the affiliations already.

Yeah -- speaking as a journalist, sometimes the things we do aren't rocket science or brain surgery. We're just putting everything in one place. At one extreme, you could probably spend days gathering the data that ProPublica gathers for a typical story, and if you know some data science, you could do the same analysis they do. I'm guessing most of us don't have the time to do that.

Same as restaurants. Could you make food at home that's better than all but the finest restaurants? Yeah, probably. You pay for convenience. (Or, if you're at a sports bar, having many TVs or a large crowd of people with you to watch.)

So on this smaller scale, I'd agree that it's awfully strange to be angry with someone who took about 20 minutes (I'm guessing) to add everything up.

The average points per team is 12.

So if you are going to try and make some point about how the VA clubs are doing as a whole in ECNL then post how they are actually doing in ECNL in relation to their division.

BRYC per age group:

U14 - 1
U15 - 15
U16 - 25
U17 - 18
U19 - 19

McLean:
U13 - 3
U14 - 19
U15 - 11
U16 - 10
U17 - 18
U19 - 21

Loudoun:
U13 - 12
U14 - 5
U15 - 9
U16 - 2
U17 - 10
U19 - 3

VDA:
U13 - 24
U14 - 19
U15 - 17
U16 - 8
U17 - 0
U19 - 5

So if you look at the age groups and their actual performance and have half a clue to understand what clubs were established with ECNL in the past you can clearly see that the older teams are doing well, while the new to ECNL clubs are struggling at the older age groups but are doing quite well with the younger age groups.

I don't think VDA and Loudoun are competing for the same kids, because of the lack of geographic proximity. There are several other clubs much closer to Loudoun.

I guess there does exist a line between stating the facts in a way that is meant to tear down a club and in posting the reality - even if that makes some people uncomfortable. I think someone is deliberately going after Loudoun ECNL and trying to cast them as a weak club with little or no talent, though that may not be necessarily a VDA parent.

However, as much as I see what's going on, a year is such a long time to commit to a club. A lot of parents try to shut these conversations down, but it's helpful to me as a parent to hear even the ugly side so I don't get blindsided.

Why are you saying "This treat was created as a bash on Loudoun"? This treat is about VDA ECNL.

Wins in VA in ages u15,u16,u17,u18/19 (recruiting ages) it would be crazy to include u13-14 as it is not about winning at these very young age groups.

McLean 19 from 30 games McLean 63%
BRYC 17 from 28 games BRYC. 61%
Richmond United 16 from 32 Richutd 50%
VDA 6 from 36 games VDA. 17%
Loudoun 5 from 28 games Loudoun 18%

This thread was created as a bash on Loudoun but the reality is VDA is just as bad. The ECNL was created to showcase players for college, that is why the u13-14 age group scores are irrelevant unless you have 13&14 year olds at VDA being recruited.

17%, so VDA parents need to take a step back, most of those kids will leave for BRYC or McLean at u15.
