Keira seems to play the same role/play each character the same way.

Cate Blanchett or Kate Winslet are more in Meryl's league.

I actually really like Keira Knightley, but I don't think she is at "greatest actress of Our Generation level". Plus a lot of people really dislike her.

She needs to gain at least 15 pounds to pad out her face.

Um, no. No, she is not "pretty much in every British movie of substance."

Alicia Vikander has potential to be great.

This was by design, and demonstrates a broader range than her usual abandoned wife (BB mountain, Greatest Show), even going back to Dawson's creek -- she was the one they killed off at the end.

Yes, sorry, I wasn’t very clear — I was impressed by how little I recognized her in that role. I’ve always liked her in dramatic roles but she did a great job at playing an insecure, vaguely comical airhead, too. Made me want to see her in a broader variety of roles!

Watch the movie Dick. No, really. She and Kirsten Dunst play airheads who bring down Nixon.

I think Lindsay Logan had potential. If she finds a really good role for her comeback, watch out!

“a growing portfolio of indie flicks” describes no actress named in this thread.

Cate Blanchett is the closest to Streep.
