Again, the irony of this post using the sexual assault of a teacher at Jason’s school against Emily aside, men in power have been screaming “politically motivated!” when they want to dismiss the voices of women who come forward. Advocates who have nothing to do with the SBOE race are calling for an explanation.This teacher was silenced when she was sent home and couldn’t say goodbye to her students, which may have hurt more than losing $3200. Now Jason, who is accountable to this decision, doesn’t want to comment, and his surrogates are saying it’s “political” so he doesn’t have to. We can’t keep letting people in power skirt their responsibility.

The Charter School Board does not have much power here as this is regarded as a personnel issue, which charter schools are relatively free to maintain on their own. Other than test results, student lottery and financial audits, the charter school board usually defers to the individual charter organizations.
