I would look at West Springfield/Irving.
Lake Braddock is great too, but Irving is VERY nurturing for a middle school.

Not Negayive Nelly, Reality Rachel. Come on out to the suburbs of Burke or Springfield. Hold on tight and plan to scramble and pay more for everything. That’s just how it is.

McLean - Longfellow me McLean High School areas. If you live in west Mclean, there are sidewalks and a more community feel. You may have to get a townhouse though. Pity you missed swim season - that’s where a lot of new friendships get cemented...

Virtual schools like K12 and Connections sound like they would be a good fit. You can supplement the social aspect by having the kids join local clubs and touring DC historical sights as part of their curriculum.
