She's become too predictable for me. Ripped from the headlines plot lines, and the twist for an ending...

The interestings was terrible, but all of Meg Wolitzers other books are really good. Her book The Wife was just made into a movie.

Any books by Julia Glass

I was going to recommend Sains for All Occassions

The Wedding Date, by Jasmine Guillory, is both fluffy and smart, with a “realistic” female protagonist. It leans romance, which is not a genre I usually read, and I loved it.

If you like fantasy, I'd recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.

Sleeping Giants has strong women, but isn't explicitly chick lit.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is borderline smutty, but still really fun.

Obelisk Gate is kind of heavy, but also a must-read.

So regular old chick lit is just about white women? Got it. ?

Yeah, I caught that too.
