Op here. Thanks. I was not expecting the number of vicious comments. For the record, I'm not attention starved. My husband paws at me plenty and I've been hit on before but it's been more traditional (eating alone on work travel, on a plane or by a jerk I know through work. I love DH and other than the normal patterns people fall into, things are good. After time, you know what each other likes, so sex becomes a routine, almost rehearsed with the exception of that occasional wild hair that strikes.
What has this so much on my mind is the boldness of the setting and the suggestion and the nature of the suggestion. I think part of me is wondering if i discovered I'm a closet exhibitionist or voyeur in my mid 40s or am I finding this exciting because it's new as in an area I haven't explored? It's as much about the suggestion as it is anything. What puzzles me about it is it part of the reason I was initially offended is that saying that struck me as childish. How could he think that would possibly work? Instead, it's like he planted a seed.
Thanks to those that gave helpful advice.
Goes to show, you can't always rely on the frontal lobe to tell you what the limbic system wants. If someone had asked OP, would some doofus saying "show me yours" at a party get her hot and bothered, she would have said "absolutely not; that's creepy." And yet, here we are.
