Funny! It’s not a suitcase but the small styrofoam box did fit with some room to spare.

Don’t get worked up. Annoying yes. Friend evaluation? Probably not. Just point it out next time or lug that bag of bricks with you. Either way...spend more time and see if they are considerate friend material.

When I leave my bag at the table with my kids I double check that at least one of them will stay there or take it with them if they had to leave. Lots of women bring their bags to the washroom so I wouldn't expect them to watch it unless you asked or mentioned you were leaving it. You might scan the table for bags but not everyone would.
I get your point and I already owned up to not asking anybody to watch it but trust me, it was visible. It was large enough to be seen across the room and one of the women had to actually lift it to get to her own purse as they’d been sitting in the same chair.
You are too hung up on this. Let it go. God forbid what you would be thinking if your purse went missing. Lesson learned. Move on. I'm sure it wasn't a group plan to try and get your purse stolen. There's no I'll intent but you're acting like there was. Relax.

The check had been paid and I excused myself after boxing up my food and waiting for them to box theirs.
So dinner was over and you just assumed that they would sit and wait for you to get back before they could go to the bathroom?

So what happenned to your food - was that left at the table too or did they take it with them?
I’d put my box of food in my bag. (Yeah, it’s that big.)
