Your son needs to get over it, because people will be commenting on his height literally for the rest of his life.

PSA--when I greet your son--I'm really not that interested in him.

Boy can have xyy as 1 in 1000 boys/men have and do not know. Unless your son is truly turned off by the question, why make a PSA? My niece was 5’ 10” in HS and the tallest of her group. It surely didn’t stop her from wearing 4 inch heels and being a teen. People are being observant and don’t have anything else to say which is why they make the height comment. I come from a family of tall people and some with red hair (I’m neither, though). It annoys my mom (she’s both) but didn’t faze anyone else. There are other things to worry about.

Both of my kids are tall..... have always been in 95 percentile their entire lives. DH is tall. I am above average.

I agree with a PP who compared the comment on a boys tallness to being called good looking. Yes, it’s about physical appearance but to most this would be a compliment. We’ve always taught DS that it’s a positive.... and One thing money cannot buy. It helps command getting noticed, respected, “feared” etc. DH is very successful and admits that he thinks his height helped get him there. He just looks “executive-like” and the smart, shirt, pudgy guys eventually get filtered out. DD is 6-2 and 16yo and did comment that everyone assumes he plays basketball; he doesn’t but just shrugs it off.

DD just turned 10 and is 5-3, I think. She has very high self confidence but sometimes have days where her height bothers her..... mainly shoe shopping since at a size 10, her feet are Considerably larger than most.

He has some unusual traits. I would appreciated if you would grab a rule sheet from the helicopter - I will be dropping leaflets - so that you can greet him appropriately.

I'm so tired of the incessant whining and finding of fault on this forum. It's so negative. Everyone has to find fault with others in their lives. The snark, too, has become such a problem. Maybe it's time to find something new. I would never have guessed that it would be a mom complaining about others commenting on how tall her son has become would put me over the edge . My own son adores it when people notice he's growing up.

I will stop saying how tall he is, if he stops telling me "Wow, did you shrink?"

My 14 yr old loves when people say that he is so tall. I love it too.

Obviously, the people who say it are the people who knew him when he was not so tall - friends, relatives, teachers etc.

He especially loves that all the people who looked so tall to him when he was little are actually so much shorter than him now. He feels like Gulliver in Lilliput.
