Thanks. We’re fortunate to have a child who has been patient with us as we learned about gender expression. Also lucky to live in a community that isn’t intolerant. Sometimes I really wish she had a lesbian fairy godmother to help navigate some things we’re clueless about.

how could would it be though if there were gender nonconformity personal shoppers for teens!

Landsend has a size calculator where you put in measurements and also sizes of clothing brands that fit you and they will tell you what size to get for individual items.
also returns can be brought to Sears

It will be indoors. I think she’ll see flowy as girly, even for pants.

Look at large boys sizes instead of men’s—she’s tiny and probably isn’t any bigger than a 12 or 14. Most stores will have a size chart and you can measure to see what’s closest as far as fit in the chest and waist. You may have to end up getting some tailoring done to keep it from looking sloppy.

You can also make a boys’ blazer look more dressy by swapping out the buttons for something with a little shine or sparkle, or just some color.

Thanks. She tried on a 12. I would like it a bit more fitted, so maybe she’ll agree to some tailoring. Once we have pants I think the shirt size situation might be clearer. I’d prefer a neat look.
