Too far to either side is unhealthy and creates food issues. My boys will eat huge salads, we replenish the fruit bowl daily, will eat almost all veggies, open to trying anything, so great eaters but if they have a few friends over and the doritos come out I am not going to sweat it. They are athletic, active, happy...a junk food binge here and there is normal and completely fine.

You clearly do not know any teen boys.
No one is shoving anything down their throats. They are vacuuming food in.
Teen boys are very different than your pre school girls.
uh-huh... and in 10 or 15 years, these teenage boys will be fat.
No they won't
Teen boys do not eat like preschool girls.
Active teen boys need around 3000 calories and athletes in training season around 4000 calories.
Active teen boys can eat and eat and not put on a pound.
This is a teen forum. Not a preschool forum.
Yes the majority of them (about 75%) will become fat. To deny that fact is foolish.
Teen boys need to eat healthy foods, so that when their teenage metabolism slows down to normal levels, they will naturally start eating less. But most teenage boys become addicted to the pizzas, burgers, fries, sodas, frozen appetizers, chips, brownies, and all of the other things being given to them. Then 5 years pass and the time comes to slow down their food intake, but they don't stop eating all of the crap because it tastes awesome and their bodies crave it.
(And I have 2 active teenage boys who eat a ton of calories -- good calories.)
