I am pointing out that it is hypocritical for a Republican to do so. And also bad for education, but that's a different issue.
I didn't like the calendar decision either, but you are wildly blowing it out of proportion. Neither party is that intellectually consistent and this is a pretty minor breach of Republican ideology.
And in terms of being bad for education, it is starting classes one week later. It really doesn't affect the quality of education.
