Lol, I know. What we used to do for ourselves for free is now something parents/girls fork over money to buy at the stores. I am also going to guess that maybe a few of these girls cut just a little more off the bottom of those shorts after purchase.

I haven't been clothes shopping with teenage girls but maybe this is the style that is in the stores now? They are wearing them because that's what they can buy now?

I'm sure as hell not wrinkly there (WTF IS?) And pimples there??? Why??? Yikes. But I do see cellulite on even teens who wear these.

My issue is the hair- I don't even think I'm all that hairy but my flaps would look like fur tacos coming out of bottoms like that. I just feel really hairy when I see people out and about in these- surely not everyone can be waxing their asses as part of their hygiene??

I think that's kind of the point. The physical and fashion trends sprouting up on Instagram seem to do best when they are impossible for most people to "pull off." I'm thinking here of the thigh gap as well, which became "fashionable" although it is anatomically out of reach for most (even very skinny) girls, because of the shape of their pelvises.

Anyway. I'm glad I'm not a teen now. But I feel bad for the future teen girls in my life.

And, like PP said, hygiene! I also see this look at the gym all the time, and all I can think about is their butt and crotch sweat getting all over the equipment.
