+1 and OP just happened to see the dietician "munching on a hot dog" as she drove away. This is so made up.
+2. And she didn’t see her right outside the office, she saw her later, “in the middle of the city”, on OP’s drive home. Sure you did, OP. Sure you did.

Anonymous wrote:Sounds like OP is one of those diet/image obsessed people who think their extra 12 pounds is a crisis, and expect a nutritionist to magically make it go away. OP (presuming is a she) already knows what she needs to do to lose weight. She went with a chip on her shoulder and instead of using the visit to learn something new, chose to critize the professional trying to provide some helpful guidance. If this person isn’t a good match for your needs, then go elsewhere; no need to be unkind to her.

I’m OP. Just decided to start a GF diet and a serious daily exercise routine on my own. It takes a huge amount of discipline, motivation, and time. Putting the advice from my new primary care doc, a previous dietitian I had 10 years ago, an expert on thyroid and my own research will keep me on this marathon to get rid of my extra pounds and feel much better. What better coach than yourself?? I will get back to this thread in 1 month with news![]()

Anonymous wrote:I went to a dietician/nutritionist at a hospital about 6 months ago. I have a lot more than 12 pounds to lose. She told me I "needed to make some changes" and "needed to eat more vegetables" (i.e., nothing that I didn't already know). I was hoping for a little more help in making those changes and incorporating more vegetables.

This guy regularly posts videos of himself on YouTube eating 10,000+ calorie meals, like several buckets of fried chicken, entire pizzas, etc. Turns out he’s in school to become....a dietician.

Anonymous wrote:I really doubt that you saw saw the same dietitian that exact same day in some random location eating a hot dog. Sounds like you are a troll.
By the way, I am a dietitian. Dietitians have training in many nutrition-related diseases, it’s not just about weight management. And as pp’s have noted there are many factors that go into obesity, so it may be a real health problem that is not within the dietitian’s control.
That said, I really dislike the career because there is so much pressure to maintain your weight, and everyone is always judging what I eat, and thinks I’m judging what they eat (I’m not).
