They are grown ups who have travelled together many times, not teenagers or twenty somethings marrying their high school or college sweethearts. Going back to "work" soon after your wedding is not a marital hardship. If it is then they are in for a short painful marriage. Somehow, I suspect that they are just fine with this arrangement.

Going to your FIL's morning birthday tea right after your wedding would be the pits though.

And just think about the huge deal that Meghan and Harrys' wedding was. They were constantly "On" and in the spotlight. I can totally see them *needing* a getaway to enjoy being married before heading right into their official royal duties.

Let them bask in the glow for a little while before putting them in their place. Good grief.

I think she'll have the double whammy of her kids ALWAYS being in the spotlight but also having to play a subservient role to their cousins.

But in all fairness, Meghan knew that would be the case going into this. She's just now getting a taste of exactly what that subservient role will mean.

Gilded cage. I think she's adjusting to the fact that she doesn't have as much latitude or freedom as she had even a few months ago. I think it would be a MUCH bigger adjustment for her as an American than a British commoner. Plus, you can't fully know what you're getting into until you're in it. It's like having book knowledge of a sport versus knowledge from experience.

So much this. I usually like Kate's style and her coats. And the queen is the queen. But all together with the pastels and the covered buttons and the thick, double seamed material that looks home-sewn (custom, haha) it's too much. It's like the British version of the unreal, fabled African royalty, like in Coming to America. These things become caricatures of themselves.
