FFS, of all the lies coming from the Silberberg camp, this is one of th most ridiculous (right up there with the assertion she “supports schools” when she was the only one who didn’t vote for the budget that included funding for repairs to schools.

There are still public comments.They just actually follow the actual adopted procedures for public comments. Alison Siberberg was running the meetings off the rails.

Keep in mind it is from the Alexandria Times, who specifically recused itself from endorsing for mayor because one of it’s partners contributed to Silberberg, so they realized they couldn’t endorse when they already had an established bias.
You would think the expectation would be for such a newsapaper to lean more towards favoring Silberberg, but even they seem to realize how ridiculous things had become, because in their editoriial they ran the same week the article above printed, they offered this editorial below, in favor of the change.

The filing deadline for school board candidates is not until June 12 (same day as the primary). After that, the Board of Elections will post the list of candidates (both incumbents and new candidates) that have filed all necessary paperwork to qualify as a school board candidate.

PP here - does anyone know which school board incumbents are or are not running for re-election this cycle? The City seems to post all campaign filings, even by former candidates from years back, so I can’t really tell.
