I do it all the time, too. There aren't shoe stores like there used to be and there are tons more options available online. If it's not a brand of shoes I already know, I may have to order multiple sizes. I vary between 7, 7.5 and 8, depending on the shoe and the brand.

Me too. If I do online buying at a merchant that has a local brick and mortar store, I usually just take my returns back instead of mailing them. Sometimes the sales associates get annoyed, but I don't care.

Huh? Why would someone order shoes they already know they aren't going to buy? I buy several pairs because you can't really tell how the style is going to look on your foot until it's actually on your foot. Also, some shoes are cut narrower or wider than others. I keep the ones that I like and that fit well, and send the rest back.

I do the same thing for my kids and DH has even done it!

This. I routinely order $1000+ worth of shoes and keep just one or two pairs or none at all. Tape up the box, print a label, drop it at the UPS store. I haven't shopped for shoes in a store in years.

I just bought my kid six pairs of shoes from Zappos for her to try on and picked one. That was about $350 total. The rest were returned. I've done this maybe 3 times a year -- for her, for me and for DH. Never had a problem.

and I just got a box of stuff from Boden -- $780 worth -- probably half of which will go back.
