Perfect example of women with too many demands. She wants the sliver of men who retired from a certain profession, and they have to like dogs, AND they have to have a new career after retirement that keeps them gainfully employed.

How many 50-year old men meet all that criteria? 0.01%? To put it in perspective, just looking at CURRENT law enforcement officer of both genders and all ages, they represent 0.2% of the US population.

Agree with this as well. I'm in my early 30's and my partner is ten years older than me. This is by far the largest age gap amongst my girlfriends and their husbands/boyfriends, whatever. I HAVE a large age gap in my relationship and generally have dated older and would still not consider a man in his 50s. I only know of one relationship like this and it's a clear trophy wife situation. I don't really run with that kind of crowd, so that's the only couple where I have seen this kind of gap and it is a real outlier.

ITA. I'm in my early 40s and none of my single friends want old guys, especially with kids and ex-wives, unless they make $$$$$$ (like $500+ K / year) and then they'd still have to deal with the alimony for the ex wife, failure to launch young adult kids who want $ for house downpayment etc. Etc.

A) they need to sleep with men right away

This is my concern. I am 48, woman, never married no kids, career. No cats. I am being told that I can only find a man 15+ older.

I will move back to my home town in the midwest and date a high school friend, plenty of whom are my age and single.

In the midwest, huge age gaps are very uncommon. Once they have kids I have plenty of men 3 and 5 years younger who I am compatible with. I don't care about a guy's wallet.

Age gap relationships especially for 2nd marriages have a greater chance of divorce. How stupid are these men in their 60s who don't want women their own age?

I don't know what a 50yo man looks like in your set, but I am a 50yo man and I find I click very well with women from 35 on up. Reasonably fit 50yo men with their life in order and decent post-divorce situations can be a very attractive feature to a 35 to 42 yo woman. I would be happy to have more kids if necessary, but no pressure either way. I don't see much competition from men in those younger age brackets, maybe because a lot of them are married still? And if they aren't married they have some reason why they never married by 40 or so. In any event, the "50+ crowd" isn't all early dinners and false teeth. It's more like work, gym, interesting daily life with friends and family, etc.
