Apple is offering discounted ($29) battery replacements for 2018. Got mine replaced a couple months ago. I have a 6.

Once this battery gives out, I think I'm going back to dumb phones. Smart phones just aren't worth the money and hassle for me anymore.

My 6. Was acting weird. Couldn’t dial or make calls intermittently. Battery ran down in an hr. I just bought. Driving. Wish I’d known about battery deal. I would have kept the one I had. I hate face definition. To me it’s slower (an extra step) than face recognition.

Only when I need to. Had a 5 for many years but got it replaced about 3 years in due to the battery. About a year ago I got an SE only because we finally switched carriers.

We've had our car 15 years and still think of it as our new car. If you buy good quality and take care of things, they last.

You can "buy good quality" and "take care of things" and still want and buy something new.

DP.. I guess if you are wealthy, then sure, but if you are not really that wealthy, then it's not a smart move to keep buying something new just because you want it. This is how people get into the "I make 6 figures but still can't get out of debt" situation.

Either way, it's pretty wasteful. American are truly a consumerist, gotta have the latest and greatest, keep up with the Joneses, society. Sad.

It's really not that hard to imagine. My car is 14 years old and still runs great. I usually keep my android phone until the OS stops upgrading and/or newer apps don't work on the OS version I have.

Not t sure. I have a 6. It’s maybe 3 years old or so? One before that I had for about 4years and then something happened to it and it wouldn’t work. The Apple store tech said it couldn’t be fixed.

My 7 is 2 years old and it's about time. Battery absolutely sucks. It will drop 30-40% in an hour's time. I've been on it 5 minutes and it's lost 5% in that time. I would go much longer but these things brick after 2-2.5 years.

I’m on my third iPhone in nearly ten years. I keep them until they break.

Every year except last year.

Every three years. It actually annoys me to upgrade because I have to get used to the new specs with each new one.

I keep my iPhone in perfect condition in an excellent protective case so no cracks or screen damage and I always get the highest GB storage so haven't had any problems with data.

About every 2.5-3y. I have a SE (purchased March 2016) and it is starting to get glitchy, the battery drains quickly, and the camera is turning to crap. I have plans get a new phone for christmas.
