Parent of a RM pom alumni and a current pom. I did enjoy watching Northwood poms team, a group of very talented girls. However, my daughter did inform me of a incident where the Northwood Poms fans and some Northwood Poms themselves accused the judges of racial bias behind the competing results online , which is untrue and a huge slap in the face to the other hard working teams. This was Northwood's 1st or 2nd year in D2 and while I admire their confidence, lets not be too cocky. I hope that the coach spends this current season teaching her athletes some humility and focus more on the journey and not the destination. I wish your daughter and Northwood Poms the best!

I’m not seeing the connection between accusing the judges of racial bias and needing to learn humility.

Yes, you are right, Poolesville won this year, I messed it up in my head. I watched their video as of course Sherwood kids thought they should have won, but the winner had by far a better and more artistic and modern dance routine. If I didn't see it for myself(on youtube), I never would have known and believed what a difficult athletic and dance skill is being in Poms today.

I agree, Sherwood team moves like robots but teams like Poolesville and Einstein are so creative when it comes to routines. Yes! Einstein was the first MCPS poms team ever to have a boy on their team. My daughter friend says everyone at the school was SUPER supporting. What a wonderful student body.
