Technically, you are both wrong. Yes, her spelling was incorrect, but also Britain is not a nation, it's an island - the larger of the two that make up the British Isles. It's made up of the countries of England, Scotland and Wales. So, when referring to it,
even with correct spelling, you really should use "on" instead of "in" as the positional word. She's on Britain, not in it. She is indeed in England as well as the United Kingdom.
