Yeah, young people do not care about the cars because it is not cool to care about the cars.

with fast fashion buying and throwing out completely good clothes every five minutes
because they need to look oh so cutting edge.
Car? who can afford a car on such a lifestyle. When you spend on your wardrobe
a car a season you really can not buy a car and have to walk and Uber everywhere
for you are poor and for you need to show of all that junk you keep in your closet
as this is why you bought it in the first place. Not to mention the fact that
all those skinny outfits are so darn tight that they do not allow them to sit as the
stiches will let go so best is to just walk and drive only minimally.

Is it cause they are broke from home purchase and Chevy has very cheap lease/loan deals? Is is they are uber/metro generation and dont really care about cars and just bought a cheap car to go A to B, or is it some hipster thing buy a Chevy and live in a million dollar home.
Why not get to know the young couples in your neighborhood and actually find out who they are as individuals instead of trying to decipher which cookie cutter narrative fits them best?

sheesh. I suck. home value right around 950. wife drives a 10 year old saturn. Daughter drives a 14 year old honda and I drive a 5 year old ford....

Actually I take that back. I occasionally see a Suburban or Tahoe. But for the basic non-fancy sedan drivers, it’s always Accords, Camrys, and Passats. Small suvs are Crvs or Rav-4s. Never Taurus, Impala, Equinox, etc.
Chevy Suburbans and Tahoes are expensive, though -- I would actually view them as a "status" car.

Just like with the clothing. It all started in Hollywood few years ago
when it was the celebrities that were dressing in jeans with holes,
while the rest of the world was and still is overdressing for average
occasion, especially Millennials.
Once you are rich, you can afford to dress like a poor person
but when you are poor you have to dress to get anywhere in life
as people only respect you for how you look and what you drive
in DC area.
Just like with the clothing. It all started in Hollywood few years ago
when it was the celebrities that were dressing in jeans with holes,
while the rest of the world was and still is overdressing for average
occasion, especially Millennials.
Once you are rich, you can afford to dress like a poor person
but when you are poor you have to dress to get anywhere in life
